On 16th October, 2024, Stanley Ho East Asia College (SHEAC) of the University of Macau successfully hosted a solemn and memorable High Table Dinner of the academic year 2024-2025.
During the opening remarks, Interim Master of SHEAC Prof. Kathy Luo extended a warm welcome to all guests, teachers and students. Prof. Luo emphasized the College’s sacred mission of creating a platform for students’ all-round development, and that the High Table Dinner is such a crucial event to facilitate intellectual exchange and enhance friendships.
The guest of honor Dr. O Leong, Senior Technical Officer of the Macao Health Bureau, delivered an inspiring speech. With a professional perspective and rich experience, Dr. O shared his in-depth analysis of the current measures and emergency response mechanisms for public health emergencies, which triggered retrospective thinking among the audience.
At the event, one of the esteemed guests Prof. Deng Chuxia, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, gave a wonderful violin solo performance of “My Motherland and I”. The piece powerfully stimulated the patriotic feelings of all the participants in the dining hall. Meanwhile, three talented SHEAC students, including Nie Yaqi Kitty from the Faculty of Business Administration, and Lin Mingyu and Zheng Wai Yan Gloria from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, offered a wonderful cello, violin and piano ensemble of “Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major”. The dinner concluded with a sing-along of the song “You Raise Me Up” which was selected by the College Master. Prof. Luo explained that the lyrics could show her determination as an educator: to nurture students so that they can stand on high mountains, walk in stormy waves, and reach further their potentials. The chorus made the atmosphere of the event reach a climax.
After the dinner, students took photos with the College Master, teachers and each other. More than a feast of food and art, high table dinners provides a stage for profound intellectual exchanges between teachers and students. The event motivates everyone to continue to pursue excellence in their future studies and life, as well as to contribute to the development of the College and the society.

柯量博士在何鴻燊東亞書院2024-25學年首場高桌晚宴上與學生分享公共衛生緊急機制等知識
2024年10月16日,何鴻燊東亞書院成功舉辦2024-2025學年第一場高桌晚宴。
晚宴伊始,書院院長羅茜教授發表了熱情洋溢的致辭。羅教授首先感謝各位嘉賓及師生的參與,然後表達了書院致力於為學生打造全面發展平台的神聖使命,以及對學生生活環境的重視。羅院長也強調了高桌晚宴正是書院一個至關重要的活動,能夠有力地促進交流、增進友誼。
活動主講嘉賓澳門衛生局高級技術員柯量博士帶來了精彩演講。他以其專業的視角和豐富的經驗,深入地為師生們剖析了突發公共衛生事件應對的措施及應急機制,引發了在場眾人的深入思考。
宴席上,特邀嘉賓健康科學學院院長鄧初夏教授帶來了引人入勝的小提琴演奏《我和我的祖國》,悠揚的旋律久久回蕩,強烈激發了在場所有人的愛國之情,同時也為晚宴增添了一抹絢麗的藝術色彩。活動接近尾聲時,三位才華洋溢的書院同學,包括工商管理學院的聶雅琪,以及人文學院的林銘禹和鄭蔚欣,也帶來了精彩的《帕赫貝爾的 D 大調卡農》大提琴、小提琴和鋼琴合奏表演。最後,全體師生合唱院長挑選的《You Raise Me Up》,歌詞表達了院長作為教育工作者的抱負:培養學生,使他們能夠站在高山上,行走在驚濤駭浪中,超越他們所能,大合唱將晚宴的氣氛推向了高潮。
晚宴結束後,同學們與院長、導師以及彼此之間紛紛合影留念。通過院長致辭、嘉賓演講和精彩的音樂表演、美食盛宴,為師生們提供了一個交流互動、共同成長的平台。高桌晚宴不僅是一場美食與藝術的盛宴,更是一次深刻的思想交流與碰撞,激勵著師生們在未來的學習和生活中,不斷追求卓越,為書院的發展和社會的進步貢獻自己的力量。
