Mr. Francis Mak, a well-known broadcaster from Hong Kong, shared with students his brilliant life experiences and never-give-up spirit.
香港知名廣播主持人麥潤壽先生前來與同學們分享精彩的人生歷程和永不言棄的精神。
On Wednesday 14th January afternoon, thanks to the coordination of the Student Affairs Office, Stanley Ho East Asia College had the privilege to invite Mr. Francis Mak, a well-known broadcaster from Hong Kong, as the honorable guest of the Master’s Tea to share with students his lively experiences. Mr. Mak’s radio program ‘My Heart Will Go On’ has been one of the most popular programs in Hong Kong. He also founded ‘Never Give Up Association’ which provides coaching to soul and general education to high school students. Mr. Mak was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2005 and a Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2011 by the HKSAR Government to recognize his dedication in promoting optimistic and positive attitudes in the community.
Mr. Francis Mak and College Master Prof. Iu Vai Pan, both alumni of Hong Kong Baptist College, finally met at SHEAC.

During the sharing, Mr. Mak expressed that when he grew up, he used to face situations of perplexity like us, but his perseverance always drove him towards achieving his targets. He shared his opinions on many skills with students, including how to deal with an awkward situation during an interview, an appropriate way to hold a microphone, and so on. His humorous style often provoked waves of laughter from the audience. Mr. Mak also conveyed wisdom to students. For example, he described that not only does a presenter need to be mindful to audience taste, to be an excellent presenter, the presenter also helps audience develop a better taste; and we should always act with a clear conscience. His words have indeed enlightened the students a lot.
The Master’s Tea ended with everyone enjoying casual dialogue, delicious refreshment, and group photo-shooting.

麥先生幽默的風格引來同學們的陣陣歡笑。
1月14日下午，承蒙學生事務處的鼎力協調，何鴻燊東亞書院有幸邀請到香港知名廣播主持人麥潤壽先生前來參與院長茶聚與同學們一起分享他精彩的人生歷程。麥先生曾經製作及主持不少膾炙人口的電台節目，當中包括《星空奇遇鐵達尼》及《星空再遇鐵達尼》。麥先生更於2002年創立了「永不放棄同學會」，為當時的高中生提供心靈及通識教育，培養他們學習永不放棄的精神。麥先生分別於2005年及2011年榮獲香港特別行政區政府頒發榮譽勳章及銅紫荊星章，以表揚他熱心參與社會事務。

在談話中，麥先生透露，在他的成長中，也曾遇到和我們一樣的困惑，但是永不言棄的精神總能讓他實現自己的目標。他向同學們分享了許多知識，包括如何化解訪談時的尷尬場面、介紹麥克風的正確使用方法等等。詼諧幽默的語言風格引來同學們的陣陣歡笑。同時他也向大家分享了許多做人的道理，例如：作為一個主持人需要迎合觀眾的口味，但作為一個好的主持人就要提高觀眾的品味；凡事要做到問心無愧等等，給同學們以深刻的啟示。
分享結束後大家紛紛與麥先生拍照留念，並一邊享用精緻的糕點一邊繼續聊天，為這個美好的午後茶聚畫上圓滿的句號。
