To strengthen students’ global competitiveness and deepen their understanding of multicultural societies, Stanley Ho East Asia College (SHEAC) of the University of Macau organized a five-day exchange trip to Singapore from 20 to 24 December 2025. Led by College Master Prof. Kathy Luo and Resident Fellow Dr. Saul Chan, a group of 13 students engaged in structured academic exchanges and cultural visits to enhance their learning perspectives and whole-person development.
In academic engagement, the team visited the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). At NUS, students toured the Microscopy Core Facility, joined a campus tour, and visited Temasek Hall, where they exchanged learning experiences with local students over lunch. At NTU, the delegation visited the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (CCEB) and the Institute of Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS), as well as Hall 13, gaining insights into world-class research environments and talent development models. These multidimensional exchanges strengthened students’ cross-cultural communication skills and enhanced their confidence in competing in international contexts.
In cultural learning, the group explored key historical and cultural sites, including the National Museum of Singapore, Peranakan Museum, Fort Canning Park, St Andrew’s Cathedral, National Gallery Singapore, and Chinatown. Through immersive visits and guided activities, students developed a comprehensive understanding of Singapore’s historical trajectory from early settlements to modern nationhood, the legacy of colonial and postcolonial architecture, the fusion of Chinese and Peranakan cultures, and the multi-faith, multi-ethnic fabric of the society.
To consolidate learning outcomes, daily reflection sessions were held. Students shared that the trip not only broadened their understanding of multicultural contexts, but also enhanced their adaptability and confidence in international academic and urban environments. Overall, the itinerary was well-structured, the exchanges and the learning outcomes were substantial. The journey fostered valuable peer bonds and inter-institutional connections, laying a strong foundation for future academic cooperation and talent exchanges.

何鴻燊東亞書院新加坡交流之旅：拓展全球視野，深化跨文化理解
為培養學生的全球競爭力，並深化對多元文化社會的理解，澳門大學何鴻燊東亞書院於2025年12月20日至12月24日舉行為期五天的新加坡交流之旅。此次行程由書院院長羅茜教授與駐院導師陳宇威博士帶領，共有13名書院學生參與，透過院校交流與文化參訪，系統性地提升學生之學習視野與綜合素養。
在學術交流方面，書院師生先後到訪新加坡國立大學（NUS）與南洋理工大學（NTU）。於NUS，學生參觀顯微核心設施（Microscopy Core Facility）、進行校園導覽，並走訪Temasek Hall，與當地師生共進午餐，交流書院生活與學習經驗；於NTU，團隊參訪化學與生物工程學院（CCEB）及數位分子分析與科學研究院（IDMxS），並走訪Hall 13，深入了解世界一流學府之科研環境與人才培養模式。透過多維度的交流，學生強化了跨文化溝通能力，並建立了面向國際的競爭信心。
在文化學習方面，師生走訪新加坡多個重要地標與文化場域，包括新加坡國家博物館、土生華人博物館、福康寧公園、聖安德烈座堂、新加坡國家美術館及牛水車等。透過沉浸式的參訪與導覽，學生更全面地理解新加坡自早期聚落至現代國家之歷史脈絡、殖民與後殖民建築遺產、華人社群與土生文化之交融，以及多宗教、多族群共存所構成之社會面貌。
學生表示，此次交流不僅拓展了對多元文化社會的理解，也提升了在國際學術與城市環境中之適應力與自信。整體而言，本次交流學習成果豐富，並建立了珍貴的同儕情誼與跨校聯繫，為未來之學術合作與人才互訪奠定了良好基礎。

「在新加坡，這種“以人為本”的理念體現在諸多細微之處：隨處可見的AED急救設備、專為輪椅使用者設置的座位與升降梯、關注心理健康的提示標語，以及允許寵物進入的室內空間等，無不展現出社會對個體需求的細緻關照。」— 林佳茵
