A Night of Gratitude, Exchange, and Fellowship – SHEAC Thanksgiving High Table Dinner

On Thanksgiving Day, 27 November 2025, Stanley Ho East Asia College (SHEAC) of the University of Macau hosted a Thanksgiving and High Table Dinner. The evening brought together college members, professors, and distinguished guests for an occasion of gratitude, fellowship, and cultural exchange.

Hosted by SHEAC College Master Prof. Kathy Qian Luo, the head table guests included Prof. Ge Wei, Vice Rector (Research) of the University of Macau; Prof. Yin Xuefeng, Executive Dean of Guohao College, Tongji University; Prof. Richard Weixing Hu, Dean and Distinguished Professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Prof. Fan Lianghuo, Dean and Chair Professor of the Faculty of Education; Prof. Wong Man Chung, Master of Cheong Kun Lun College; Prof. Chen Guokai, Interim Director of Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Institute; and Prof. Zhang Dongbo, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education. The event also welcomed distinguished guests, including Prof. Nuno Canas Mednes from the University of Lisbon, Prof. Alarico Ximenes from the University of Dili, Dr. Anabela Santiago from the University of Aveiro, and Ms. Chen Le from Tongji University, together with more than 30 SHEAC fellows and affiliates from various faculties and institutes of UM.

In the opening remarks, Prof. Luo first extended heartfelt thanks to Prof. Yin Xuefeng from Tongji University’s Guohao College for traveling from afar to attend the event. She also expressed hopes for future student exchanges and collaboration between the two colleges. Prof. Luo then conveyed her sincere gratitude to Vice Rector Prof. Ge for his continual support and guidance, and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of colleagues, college fellows, affiliates, and student leaders whose commitment has made SHEAC a warm and supportive home for students. A special tribute was presented to administrative colleague Ms. Hattie U, who will soon retire after more than 30 years of service at UM and devoted contributions to SHEAC since 2019.

As the guest of honor, Prof. Yin Xuefeng, Executive Dean of Guohao College, Tongji University, delivered an inspiring speech. He shared insights on education and personal growth, encouraging students to “Reject mediocrity, blaze a growth path of distinctiveness, depth, and warmth. Broaden horizons via communication, sharpen capabilities through collaboration, and keep extending social networks and spiritual frontiers.” His reflections on residential college education deeply inspired the audience.

During the dinner, four first-year students delivered wonderful performances that enlivened the atmosphere: Ms. Hung Chi Weng and Ms. Ho Pui Si performed a piano and guitar rendition of Best Part with vocals, while Ms. Erica Lomonaco and Ms. Kyrsten Ashley Ponciano Francisco sang In My Head. Following the performances, guests and students enjoyed dessert and a lively Bingo game, with laughter and cheers filling the hall and enhancing the warm, festive Thanksgiving spirit.

The Thanksgiving and High Table Dinner served not only as a celebration of gratitude, but also as a meaningful occasion for inter-college exchange and community building, embodying SHEAC’s enduring spirit of home.

感恩、交流與歡聚之夜—何鴻燊東亞書院舉辦感恩節暨高桌晚宴

2025年11月27日感恩節當天，澳門大學何鴻燊東亞書院（SHEAC）舉辦了感恩節暨高桌晚宴。當晚，書院師生與嘉賓齊聚一堂，共慶佳節，透過豐富的節目和交流活動，展現書院教育的精神與特色。

在書院院長羅茜教授的邀請下，出席晚宴的主桌嘉賓包括澳門大學副校長（研究）葛偉講座教授，同濟大學國豪書院執行院長尹學鋒教授，社會科學學院院長胡偉星教授，教育學院院長范良火教授，張崑崙書院黃民聰教授，珠海澳大科技研究院院長陳國凱教授，以及教育學院副院長張東波教授。書院亦榮幸地邀請到里斯本大學Nuno Canas Mednes教授、帝力大學社會與政治科學學院院長Alarico Ximenes教授、阿威羅大學博士研究員Anabela Santiago博士、同濟大學國豪書院陳樂老師，以及三十多位非駐院教員出席。

羅院長在開幕致辭中，特別感謝同濟大學國豪書院尹院長遠道而來，並期望兩院學生能在未來展開交流互訪。她並向葛副校長表達誠摯謝意，感謝其長期以來的鼓勵與支持，同時感念同仁、書院導師及學生領袖的努力，讓書院成為學生心中的溫暖家園。當晚亦特別向即將榮休的行政同事余磊女士致敬，感謝她三十多年來對澳大及書院的貢獻。

主講嘉賓同濟大學國豪書院尹學鋒院長在致辭中勉勵學生：「不趨同於平庸，走出一條有個性、有深度、有溫度的成長之路；在交流中打開格局，在合作中錘煉能力，不斷延展人際網路與精神疆界。」他亦分享了自己在書院教育上的經驗與心得，鼓舞在場師生。

晚宴上，四位一年級學生帶來精彩表演：孔祉穎同學與何沛思同學以鋼琴、結他伴奏並演唱了《Best Part》；Erica Lomonaco同學與Kyrsten Ashley Ponciano Francisco同學演唱《In My Head》，贏得滿堂掌聲。表演後，賓客們在甜品與賓果遊戲中度過了愉快的時光。

這場高桌晚宴不僅是感恩節的慶祝，更是一場促進跨院交流、深化師生情誼的盛會，充分體現何鴻燊東亞書院「家」的精神與凝聚力。
